The installation of the Lumu Agent is simple and straightforward. In this document, we guide you through the installation of the Lumu Agent for macOS via the application and using the terminal.
The Lumu Agent is a lightweight software program, below are some referential information regarding the agent average consumption on macOS devices:
1. To download the agent file for installation on macOS, go to the Lumu Portal and navigate to the Agents menu, click to download, and select the macOS option.
2. Select the installer according to the architecture of the device.
3. Once downloaded, run the installation file. You will be guided through the steps to install the Lumu Agent. When requested, accept the license agreement, select the disk, and provide the device’s access credentials.
4. Once installed, locate and run the “Lumu Agent” application.
5. Once the Lumu Agent starts for the first time, you will be requested to enter the activation code from the group you created previously .
The next step is to activate the Lumu Agent using the installation path ( /Applications/Lumu Agent.app/Contents/MacOS/lumuagentctl ) and the activation code of the group . The command should look like this:
The Lumu Agent for macOS includes an application for support purposes. You can use this application to troubleshoot and get agent information from devices. You should run the commands in the Lumu installation path (i. e. /Applications/Lumu Agent.app/Contents/MacOS/lumuagentctl ) using admin privileges. To obtain the list of commands available, use the parameter -h, as in the following example.
The update process is already integrated with the agent application. Once a new version is available, the application will prompt the user to update.

To uninstall the Lumu Agent using a macOS device via terminal, go to the Lumu installation path ( /Applications/Lumu Agent.app/Contents/MacOS/lumuagentctl ) and run the parameter uninstall. This command requires administrator privileges. The command should look like this:
