How to check if a macOS device is using an Intel or M1 processor?

The easiest way to confirm whether a macOS device is using an Intel (X86_64) or M1 (ARM) processor is by using the “About This Mac” feature.

Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner of your macOS menu bar. This will bring up a drop-down menu, then select the top option: “About This Mac” (1).

A window should open with the software and hardware information, including the processor running on your device.
