This should give you an idea of the potential the Lumu Discover module has when it comes to potentiating your MSP’s business strategy. Now, let's look at the tool itself.

How to access Lumu Discover

This is how you can access Lumu Discover from the Lumu for MSP Portal.

1. After logging in to your Lumu for MSP account, look for the Lumu Discover banner at the bottom of the left side panel. Click on it:

2. This will open a new tab displaying all the companies under your umbrella. However, if this is your first time using the Discover for MSP module, the page will appear differently. For this guide, we will assume you are adding your first company.

Now, let’s start by adding your first company and domain.

Add a Company

Adding a company is very simple and intuitive; however, we must first talk about credits:

One credit from your account will be used whenever you unlock an added domain or sync the domain’s information. Your MSP will have a monthly allotment of credits that will vary depending on your MSP’s minimum endpoint commitment. The higher your commitment, the more credits your account will be granted each month. This example account will have 20 credits. This is important because you must adequately ration your credits when adding companies and their domains to your MSP’s Lumu Discover module.

1. Click on the Add button.

2. Now, you must add the name of the company(1), its domain(2), and industry(3). Make sure you enter this information accurately.

3. Once you enter this information, click on Analyze.

If the correct information is entered, the company will be added successfully.

4. Now, the newly added company will show in the Companies section, where you will also find the Unlock button. Click on it to start seeing the company’s Lumu Discover panel. Remember this action will cost 1 credit.

You will get the following alert when the action is completed successfully.

5. Now, you will have access to the company’s Lumu Discover details.

Lumu Discover Details

Once a company is added, you will be able to see its details. This is how:

1. Click on the details of one of your companies:

2. By clicking on the Details button, you will be able to access all of the company's external attack surface information. At the top, you will see the following options:
3. You will have access to all the features of Lumu Discover by using the top panel(3). You can switch between them by clicking on the corresponding tabs. To learn more about each section, be sure to check our Lumu Discover documentation and playbooks.
4. Click on the Summary Report button(2) to download a Lumu Discover report for the selected company.
5. Sync the company's data when you consider it necessary. Bear in mind this will consume a credit.

Now you will be able to carefully examine the company’s external attack surface and help them find, assess and address the vulnerabilities in their infrastructure.
